I am available for tutorials every day during PIT and every day before school by appointment. If these tutorial times do not work for you, please talk to me so we can see if there's an option that would work better with your schedule.
All student work is expected to be completed on time. I will accept late work up to 1 class after it is due, for a maximum grade of 70%. You are responsible for knowing when your assignments are late or missing.
Students may retest 1 quiz per 6 weeks for a maximum grade of 70% and 1 test per semester for a maximum grade of 70%. Students are required to attend a tutorial session with me to be eligible for retesting. Retesting must be completed within one week after students see their grade. Projects and semester exams may not be redone.
Missed assignments must be made up within one week of the student’s return. Students are responsible for keeping track of all missed assignments and turning them in within one week of their return.
Each student has a list of Spanish contacts from class. It is THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY to check with these contacts to verify what they missed from class. They may ask me for clarification if needed provided they have asked/ talked with all of their contacts first. on an assignment or print-outs if needed. Any handouts or returned assignments that students miss can be found in their class basket with their name on it.
Please understand that, while I strive for accuracy, errors or discrepancies in the posting of activities/assignments are possible!
Tests and quizzes may be made up during my tutorial hours. If the student was present when a major test or project was assigned, he or she will be expected to take the test or turn in the project on the date assigned despite absences occurring immediately prior to the designated date. Students with pre-approved absences for UIL activities or school functions will still be held accountable to deadlines on all assignments. Make plans accordingly!!!
An extension MAY be approved in the event that a student realizes they do not have sufficient time to turn in their best quality work due to extenuating circumstances. An extension will result in the student being able to turn in the assignment at a later date than the deadline and still receive full credit. A request for extension approval must be submitted no later than 48 hours before the due date. If the assignment was assigned only 48 hours before the due date (ie. something due the next day class meets), a student may submit a request before the end of the class.
The request needs to follow the e-mail extension guide lines (Separate handout). If these are not followed, the request will not be approved with a confirmation e-mail. A request may not be submitted more than once for a single assignment. A student should not assume that their request will be accepted and are fully responsible for turning the assignment in on time unless a confirmation e-mail is received.
When turning in the extended assignment the student MUST attach a copy of their e-mail and their confirmation e-mail(s) to the front of the assignment. If this is not there it will be graded as late. This may not be attached after the assignment has been turned in.
